The single screen cinema and a restaurant above operated for many years. At the end 1998 the original single screen cinema of 300 hundred seats was divided into two separate cinemas, one seating 187 (cinema 1) while the other portion seats 80 (cinema 2). Twelve months later the restaurant above the cinema was converted into two new identical cinemas (theatrettes 3 & 4). These additional cinemas allow Waverley Cinema to screen several films at a time.
