Dear Moviegoers,
For those of you waiting patiently ,the much anticipated THE VISITOR (M) is now showing. Sixty-two-year-old Walter Vale (Jenkins) is sleepwalking through his life.
Having lost his passion for teaching and writing, he fills the void by unsuccessfully trying to learn to play classical piano.
When his college sends him to Manhattan to attend a conference, Walter is surprised to find a young couple has taken up residence in his apartment.
Victims of a real estate scam, Tarek, a Syrian man, and Zainab, his Senegalese girlfriend, have nowhere else to go.
In the first of a series of tests of the heart, Walter reluctantly allows the couple to stay with him.
School holidays are well underway and there is much to offer the kids and mums anddads alike! The brand new Disney Pixar feature WALL - E /G\ is getting rave reviews from both the Press and moviegoers, this is one special movie for the whole family to enjoy together.
Another fun family film is now showing BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA [PG]. Chloe (voice of Drew Barrymore) is a pampered Chihuahua from Beverly Hills who spends most of her time riding around in her owner's purse.
When she gets accidentally separated from her "mobile home" on a trip to Mexico, she must rely on the help and kindness of strangers to find her way back; these include a hyper-romantic male Chihuahua named Papi and a mystical "spirit guide" (voice of Salma Hayek) who brings Chloe in touch with her doggy heritage.
As with all holiday films, bookings, whether by phone or online , are strongly recommended, so be sure to do so early to avoid disappointment on arrival.
Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes star in THE DUCHESS (M) also commencing this week. The scandalous rise and fall of the Georgina, Duchess of Devonshire.
Like Princess Diana, her direct descendent, she was beautiful, glamorous and adored by the public.Keira Knightley stars as the 18th century aristocrat Georgiana, duchess of Devonshire.
An ancestor of Princess Di, she lived an extravagant, profligate and promiscuous life of political and romantic intrigue, becoming an important powerbroker amid Britain's ruling elite but also running up catastrophic gambling debts. She was alternately feted and reviled, and widely caricatured by the popular press.
THE BANK JOB (MA) is still screening, and highly recommended.
Inspired by a real-life 1971 London bank robbery that was never solved.
A band of thieves tunneled their way into a safe deposit vault, taking millions of dollars in cash and jewelry.
The robbery made headlines for several days, but then all reporting stopped as a result of a government gag order.
